Changes to fuel at ATF forecourts – what consumers need to know

Islanders may have seen recent reports about changes to the fuel sold at ATF forecourts in Jersey. We want to help consumers understand what is changing, why it is happening, and how to make informed choices when buying fuel.

From April 2026, ATF will no longer supply biofuel blends at its forecourts. This means:

  • E10 petrol (petrol containing up to 10% ethanol) will no longer be available

  • B7 diesel (diesel containing up to 7% biofuel) will no longer be available

Instead, ATF will move to supplying conventional petrol and diesel as part of a change in its fuel supplier.

Why is this happening?

ATF has said that rising supply chain costs, including shipping and logistics, have led the company to change how it sources its fuel. Rather than pass those increased costs directly on to consumers, ATF has chosen to move to a lower-cost supply chain, using fuel supplied via La Collette Terminal Limited.

ATF has stated that this decision is intended to help the company remain competitive and continue offering lower prices at the pump over the longer term.

What is staying?

While the fuel blend is changing, ATF has confirmed that:

  • Discount fuel days on Wednesdays and Sundays will continue

  • ATF forecourts will remain open as usual

  • Pricing will continue to be advertised clearly at the pump

Consumers using the ATF+ app can also continue to access rewards linked to fuel purchases.

What does this mean for consumers?

For most drivers, the change is unlikely to affect day-to-day vehicle use. However, some consumers may prefer biofuel blends for environmental reasons or for consistency with fuels sold in the UK.

It is important that consumers know they still have a choice on the Island. Different forecourts may offer different fuel types and prices, and these can change regularly.
