
We'll be holding a free two-day consumer fair to help Islanders with everything ranging from the cost-of-living crisis to online safety, and to provide free advice and money-saving tips.
Launched to mark the 30th anniversary of the Jersey Consumer Council, the fair will bring together a wide variety of local consumer-focused organisations under one roof for the first time.
The first Jersey Consumer Fair will take place at St Helier's Town Hall on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September 2025, between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
Exhibitors at the Fair will be offering free consumer advice to Islanders of all ages, on a variety of topics. There will also be a series of free, short, informative talks taking place across the two days. More than 20 consumer-focused organisations will be represented at the event to help keep Islanders informed, empowered, and connected.
Participants will include Trading Standards, Citizens Advice, Enable Jersey, Highlands College, the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner, LibertyBus, Jersey Fire and Rescue, and the Jersey Competition and Regulatory Authority, among many others.
Exhibitors and speakers will address consumer issues, educating Islanders about their own consumer rights and providing them with the information they need to make informed decisions.
Jersey Consumer Council Chairman Carl Walker said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 30 years of the Jersey Consumer Council by holding a Fair for all Jersey consumers, right in the centre of town.
“We encourage anyone concerned about issues such as the cost of living to come along to meet and hear from representatives of a wide variety of organisations, who will all be coming together to offer tips and guidance aimed at making consumers’ lives better.
“Whether you’re looking for money-saving tips, information on a specific consumer topic, or advice on an issue, there will be something for Islanders of all ages and we’re looking forward to welcoming as many consumers as possible.”
The Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner is one of the organisations taking part in the Fair. Operations Director Anne King said: “The Jersey Consumer Council works on behalf of Islanders, and we recognise the power in collaborating with the Council to help consumers to make informed decisions – decisions which can be based on respect for privacy rights and transparency”.

25 April 1995 – The Council was established by Act of the States of Jersey to provide a body which could represent the views of consumers in the Island.

November 2011 – Act of Incorporation was granted by the Royal Court and, subsequently, a Constitution was lodged with the States Greffe, resulting in greater independence for the Jersey Consumer Council, as well as the ability to enter employment, research and consultancy contracts in its own right.

September 2024 – The Jersey Consumer Council launched Prices.je to monitor the prices of groceries, fuel, heating oil, and other commodities in the Island.
- September 2025 – The Council will mark 30 years of supporting Island consumers by hosting Jersey’s first ever Consumer Fair.
