LibertyBus have announced the signing of a new contract with Government of Jersey, meaning they will be running our bus service for the next ten years.
The contract starts on 6 April 2025 and LibertyBus say they have committed to providing sustainable, high-quality public transport for Islanders and visitors.
These are some key highlights of the new contract:
- Modern, Eco-Friendly Buses: In the first 12 months, LibertyBus will introduce 22 ultra-low emission, high-capacity buses, replacing older vehicles. The remaining fleet will undergo refurbishment to ensure comfort and reliability for all passengers.
- A Greener Future: LibertyBus has pledged to renew its entire fleet in line with Jersey's carbon-neutral ambitions, marking a significant step towards a more sustainable future
- Enhanced Services for the Community: Islanders will benefit from more bus routes and increased service frequencies, exceeding the tender requirements and ensuring better connectivity across the island.
Have your say
There is still time to have your say. LibertyBus have been giving Islanders the chance to offer their views on the service, by holding several public consultation meetings.
If you have missed these consultation meetings don't worry, you still have the opportunity to speak to the team at LibertyBus. Put your suggestions forward by emailing info@libertybus.je before the end of January.
