• Come and talk to us in St John about your consumer issues

  You can come and meet representatives of the Jersey Consumer Council later this month, and talk to us about your consumer issues. Ahead of the second Jersey Consumer Fair later this year, we’re going on the road, with a series of small drop-in events across the Island.

• Why shopping around matters more than ever

  We’ve been looking at our ‘Basket of Essentials’ on Prices.je, and how the cost of items has changed since we began regularly recording prices in 2022. Our data shows that while some grocery prices have stabilised in recent years, the overall cost of everyday shopping remains significantly higher than it was just a few years ago.

• ‘More choice and greater access to credit cards’ on the way

  Following years of campaigning by the Jersey Consumer Council, Jersey residents will soon have ‘more choice and greater access to’ credit cards. From 30 July, the Government will be securely sharing Islanders’ personal data with UK credit reference agencies, unless people decide to opt out.
