Who we are

All about who the Jersey Consumer Council and the role we play

The Jersey Consumer Council (JCC) works on behalf of all consumers on the Island as a research and policy based champion for good consumer market conduct. We investigate and publicise anomalies in consumer affairs and provide Islanders with accurate and timely information to help them make informed decisions.

The Jersey Consumer Council Committee

Our council consists of 8 members of all ages and from all walks of life. They meet regularly to discuss some of the most pressing consumer issues and decide what further steps should be taken in terms of research and campaigns. Our Chairman oversees these decisions and acts as the public face for the Council. The members aim to represent all of the Island’s consumers and make decisions with their needs in mind.

What we do

All about how we serve consumers, including our Annual Reports

As a voice for consumers, it is our mission to represent their interests fairly and get information that may not be available through normal customer service channels.

The Council has received hundreds of consumer complaints and queries over the years, ranging from food prices, delivery charges, high phone bills and poor customer service. We ensure to respond to and log any emails, calls or letters we receive and either guide them on to the appropriate agency or conduct further research ourselves. If we receive enough complaints about a specific issue or company, Council led campaigns will aim to get answers, and hopefully resolutions, for consumers.
