Jersey Post increase collections from Amazon depots to resolve recent issues

Jersey Post has increased the number of collections from Amazon depots this week, to help get online orders to the Islander faster. In recent weeks, many consumers have contacted us about the issues they’ve been experiencing with Amazon orders since before Christmas.

Islanders placing new orders have recently been given estimated delivery dates of two weeks or more, even if they paid for Prime membership, which usually ensures delivery to Jersey within a few days.

We have been in regular contact with Jersey Post about this issue, and have been sharing consumers’ concerns with them.

Jersey Post has been working with Amazon to try to understand the cause of the delays.

They said: “Jersey Post is proud of its work with Amazon to ensure Islanders consistently receive the best possible service. We are aware of current issues with long delivery lead times of some Islander’s orders, and we have been working with Amazon to understand what is causing this.

“Jersey Post takes responsibility for the delivery of Amazon goods once they despatch goods from their depot. We collect from multiple Amazon depots daily in the UK and despatch on the first available ferry. On arrival in Jersey, we aim to process and deliver to islanders within 24 hours (in 2025 we delivered 96.4% of all items within 24 hours of arriving with us).

“Aside from the impact of recent ferry delays, we are confident there are no specific operational or customs issues affecting goods once despatched by Amazon. With Amazon’s support, from today (Monday, 12 January) we are increasing the number of collections from Amazon depots to assist in getting items to the Island quicker.”
