The States of Jersey Police has asked us to warn consumers about a new scam that is affecting Islanders.
The Police say they've been getting lots of calls coming in about a current phone scam.
It involves an answerphone message being left on landlines claiming to be from a bank querying recent transactions. They ask you to press '1' to confirm the payments or '2' to make an enquiry about it.
The Police warn that it's a scam, and you should hang up immediately. Your bank will never leave a message like this.
If in doubt, either contact your bank using a number from their website, or the local telephone book, or ring the Police on 612612.
