In April 2020 a historic agreement was reached between the Government and over 100 GPs in the Island.
This agreement has resulted in a contract whereby GPs will support:
- Out-of-hospital care where possible
- Ambulance service 24/7 to help treat patients in situ
- Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) opened on 14 April
- Care homes across the Island
- Health and Community Services
If you need a doctor’s appointment, call your surgery – do not go there. You will then be triaged by telephone or video consultation, a face-to-face consultation, or a home visit, depending on your need as determined by the GP.
From April to July 2020 the Government will subsidise COVID Response Team home visits and end-of-life visits – they will be free.
