Jersey Consumer Fair returns to the Town Hall in November

The Jersey Consumer Fair is back for a second year. Come along to St Helier’s Town Hall on Saturday, 14 November, from 10am to 4pm, for free, face-to-face information and guidance on the issues that affect you every day. Entry is free, you don’t need to book, and everyone is welcome.

Our first fair, in September 2025, marked our 30th anniversary and brought together more than 20 consumer-focused organisations. After the great response, we’re bringing a wide range of trusted local organisations under one roof again this year.

Our Chairman, Carl Walker, said: “We were delighted by the response to last year’s Consumer Fair, and we’re very pleased to be bringing it back. Having so many local organisations in one place makes it much easier for Islanders to find the information and support they need.

“You don’t need to have a complaint or a particular problem to come along. Whether you have a specific question, want to understand your consumer rights, or would simply like to find out more about the help available in Jersey, you’ll be very welcome. You might discover a service you didn’t know existed, or pick up information that could help a friend or family member.”

What you’ll find at the fair

You can browse the stands, pick up information, ask questions and speak directly to the teams about the topics that matter to you.

With the cost of living still affecting Islanders, you’ll be able to:

  • Pick up handy tools, such as our Christmas budget planner.
  • Learn more about your consumer rights.
  • Find out how to become a savvy shopper.
  • Get information about everyday services and the local support available to you and your family.
  • Learn about making informed financial decisions.
  • Find out how to avoid scams and fraud.
  • Get help setting up and using Prices.je, our price comparison site, so you can compare local prices and find the best deals.

Who’s taking part

Organisations joining the Jersey Consumer Council for the fair include:

  • Citizens Advice Jersey
  • The Jersey Fraud Prevention Forum
  • Trading Standards
  • The Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner
  • The Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority
  • The Government of Jersey’s Employment, Social Security and Housing Department.
  • Jersey Post
  • Jersey Electricity
  • Enable Jersey
  • Community Savings

Plan your visit

The fair runs from 10am to 4pm, so you can drop in at whatever time suits you.

If you have a specific question, it may help to jot it down beforehand and bring along any letters, bills or paperwork that relate to it, so the teams can give you the most useful advice. Why not bring a friend, neighbour or family member too?

With just six weeks to go until Christmas from the date of the Fair, it’s also a great time to pick up our Christmas budget planner and some tips on managing your festive spending, as well as other seasonal advice.

What visitors said last year

We asked visitors to last year’s fair what they thought, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. People described the event as informative and well organised, and one visitor suggested it should become a regular part of the Island calendar – so we’re delighted to be making that happen.

Visitors told us they found advice on a wide range of topics useful, from electric boilers, pensions and data protection to avoiding scams and spotting supermarket sales tactics. Several visitors had our price comparison site, Prices.je, set up on their phone for them, while others told us they welcomed the chance to share their views directly with the Carbon Neutral and price comparison teams.

Many also mentioned the friendly, approachable people on the stands, while Citizens Advice staff were praised for their patience in helping a visitor who is hard of hearing.

Comments included: “Many congratulations for putting on such a very informative Consumer Fair – well done,” and “A very useful Consumer Fair, with friendly, informative people at hand to give advice.”
