Anthony Dearie
Anthony Dearie has been the Jersey Consumer Council’s Executive Officer since October 2022.
Anthony came to the Council after spending over 15 years working in the media and communications industries.
He worked at the Jersey Evening Post for 12 years, initially as a news journalist and Education Correspondent, then later progressing to senior roles including Community Editor and Internet Editor.
His final two years at the JEP were spent as Commercial Features and Special Publications Editor, where he was responsible for a portfolio of more than 250 publications a year, including magazines such as Jersey Weddings, Everybody Loves Jersey, and a biannual Travel publication.
Born in Jersey, Anthony was educated at De La Salle College and Hautlieu School, before graduating with a BA (Hons) in Multimedia Journalism at Bournemouth University.
After leaving the JEP, Anthony spent four years working for the Government, as an Internal Communications Officer, and was part of a team that launched the OurGov intranet newsroom to over 9,000 Government colleagues. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he was seconded to help run the Government’s busy social media channels to help keep Islanders safe and informed about the latest guidelines and developments.
Outside of work, Anthony is passionate about music and enjoys colleting vinyl records and playing music quizzes.
